There is an entry from Brompton [on Swale] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE2199/brompton-on-swale/] [accesssed 5 March 2018], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Cox & Harvey (1907) list a baptismal font of the Early English period here. Noted in Morris (1931) as a "circular E[arly] E[nglish] font." The English Heritage entry for this church [Listing NGR: SE2155799685] mentions no font in it. The baptismal font here, which may have undergone some re-tooling, consists of a plain cylindrical basin supported on a central shaft and four outer columns, all raised on a square lower base. There is plain round cover that appears made of the same stone as the font.
