There are two entries for Seaton [Ross] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE7841/seaton-ross/] [accessed 21 July 2015], one of which mentions a priest and a church in it. Bulmer's Directory of 1892 [cited in www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/ERY/Seatonross/Seatonross92.html] [accessed 6 March 2009] reports: "An old massive stone font stands at the west end, but is not now used." Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Norman period. The Parish web site [www.seatonross.org.uk/stedmunds.php] [accessed 6 March 2009] notes: "The original Norman font is in use today". The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE7812941328] notes: "Plain C12 tub font in tower chamber."
