Font Notes:
Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) and in Guilford (1927) as a noteworthy example of Early English font. Cox (1912) notes: "Old font transferred to new church; circular bowl arcaded with narrow trefoil-headed arches; it is of 2nd quarter of 13th cent." In Guilford (1927) a font of ca. 1250 in the new church. Described in Pevsner & Williamson (1979): "The font, later C13 with a frieze of black pointed-trefoil arcades, was transferred" [from the old abandoned church in ruins to the new church built in 1861]. The font is raised on a quadrangular plinth; the inner weel of the basin is lead-lined.
