Font Notes:
The present font in this church consists of a large octagonal basin with vertical sides and underbowl chamfer, all plain, raised on a short moulded base, also octagonal. The original Romanesque building was mostly re-build after the 1755 earthquake, but this font would fit better in the designs of the 16th or 167th century, unless the basin is the original re-cut at a later date [NB: the west portal dates from the Romanesque period, but we have no information on the medieval font here].
