Described in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Decorated period. The Victoria County History (Northamptonshire, vol. 4, 1937) notes: "the tower belongs to a Norman church which probably covered the area of the present nave, with a small square-ended chancel [...] The font is of late-13th-century date and consists of a circular bowl moulded round the edge, and pillared stem with five attached shafts, two of the intervening spaces having quatrefoiled circles and roses tournantes. The oak cover is modern, but the Elizabethan font cover is preserved in the belfry." There is no mention of either font or cover in Pevsner & Cherry (1973). The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SP7686972574] notes: "C12 to C14 with C19 restoration [...] Font probably C13 bowl on cluster of shafts." The font is described and illustrated in the CRSBI (2008): "The font stands on an extremely tall modern double step, which raises it to an unusually high level. The bowl is chalice-shaped with a roll around the angle of the rim and another, thinner roll just below. The lower rim projects and the edge has angle rolls at top and bottom. The upper rim has lock damage, and the basin is lined with lead. The bowl stands on a five-shafted pier with panels between the shafts, some carved with relief quatrefoils in circles. This pier must be 14thc., but the bowl dates from the 12thc."
