Font Notes:
Described in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Early English period. Described in the Victoria County History (Northampton, vol. 4, 1937): "The font consists of a plain cylindrical bowl 14½ in. high, chamfered round the top, on a double masonry base: the flat cover is modern"; the church interior plan in the VCH entry shows the font located behind the westernmost pillar of the arcade that separates the nave from the south aisle. Mee (1945) notes: "The round font is probably Norman." [cf. Index entries Cogenhoe Nos. 2, 3 for two stoups listed in this church -- none mentioned in Pevsner & Cherry (1973)]
