There is an entry for Leesthorpe [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK7913/leesthorpe/] [accessed 9 September 2015], and it mentions a priest, but not a church in it, though there probably was one there. The Victoria County History (Leicestershire, vol. 5, 1964) notes: "A chapel, no doubt dependent on the church at Pickwell, was mentioned in the hamlet of Leesthorpe in the early 14th century; [...] it was 'decayed' in 1642, [...] and no more is known of it." [NB: we have no information on the font of the original Domesday-time church/chapel here]
