There is an entry for Kilby [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP6295/kilby/] [accessed 13 August 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. A font in Kilby, Lincs., is listed in Simpson (1828) and in Cox & Harvey (1907), a baptismal font of the Decorated period [NB: Simpson gives the county as Lincolnshire]. White's Directory of 1862 notes: "The font is of marble found in the
neighbourhood". Williamson & Pevsner (1998 repr. 2001) report a small 18th-century font in pieces in this church.
