There is an entry for Greetwell [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF0171/greetwell/] [accessed 31 December 2021]; it reports a priest and a church in it. The baptismal font here is noted in Colling (1856) as Early English, and illustrated with a drawing by T.J. Wilson. Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Early English period. Noted in Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989): "A square C13 bowl with stiff-leaf sprays at the corners, on a base of eight shafts." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF0135471532] notes: "Parish church. C11, early C13, late C14, heavily restored in C19 [...] C13 font heavily restored in C19, with octagonal plinth surrounded by 8 shafts, their stiff leaf capitals forming broad band round base of plain rectangular bowl."
