Scene Description: Source caption: "Church of St Mary, Marston on Dove. View from the north east. The north aisle with its two tiers of square-headed windows and roof line continuous with the nave looks almost domestic. Basically 15th century with the far bay being a 19th century addition in matching style. The chancel is 13th century with narrow lancet windows."

Kelly's Directory of 1881 reports "a remarkably fine old Norman font" here. Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Norman period. The entry for this Church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK2331029632] reports: "Parish church. C13, early C14, C15, restored C19. [...] Plain deep circular font, possible Cll."
