Noted in Murray (1865), in Cox & Harvey (1907) and in Cox (1912) as a baptismal font of the Early English period: "Of older church, massive font, 29 in. square, with slightly pointed arcading, c. 1190, remains". Noted in Pevsner (1970): Font. Of Purbeck table-top type, with seven flat little blank niches with pointed heads on each side."
