There is an entry for this Haddenham [variant spelling] in te Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TL4675/haddenham/] [accessed 24 September 2015], but it mentions neither cleric not church in it. Cox & Harvey (1907) include the noteworthy baptismal font at Haddenham among the best Perpendicular fonts in the county. Kelly's Directory of this county for 1929 writes: "the font in use, a 14th century work, is curiously carved, but in the south porch stands an earlier and perfectly plain font, which was dug up in the churchyard, and is presumed to have belonged to the former church". Noted in Pevsner (1970): "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], four griffins seated against the stem, demi-figures of angels and rosettes on the bowl". [cf. Index entry for Haddenham No. 1 for a plain font of earlier date in the south porch]
