Noted in Lysons (1806-1833) as a round baptismal font decorated with arches. Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907: 187) as a baptismal font of the Norman period. Described in Tyrrell-Green (1928: 24, 76) as an early baptismal stone font consisting of a round basin mounted on a pedestal base; the Norman basin is ornamented with a blind arcade.
