There are two entries for Odell [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP9658/odell/] [accessed 11 September 2015], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. There is a 1868 drawing of this font [[ref.: Z50/86/60] Bedford Borough Council [www.bedfordshire.gov.uk] [accessed 14 September 2011]. Noted in Kelly's county directory of 1898: "the font is octagonal and has traceried panels". Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. The Victoria County History (Bedford, vol. 3, 1912) notes: "The first mention [of a church in Odell] has been found in 1235 [...] The church of All Saints is a good example of a 15th-century church built all at one time [...] The font, which is in the south aisle, is of the same date as the church, and is octagonal with cinquefoiled panelling on the bowl." Noted in Pevsner (1968): "Font. Octagonal, Perp, with tracery motifs."
