Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a heraldic baptismal font dated by an inscription to 1674 [there are no heraldic motifs on this font at all]. In Guilford (1927). Pevsner & Williamson (1979) write: "1674, but no distinguishing features." The font consists of an octagonal basin with very shallow sides and a tall underbowl concave chamfer that ends with a prominent moulding; raised on a plain octagonal pedestal base and shorth octagonal lower base; on an octagonal plinth. The is lead-lined but the exterior looks very sharp, perhaps re-tooled, as may be the case with the stem. The wooden cover is round and flat, with metal decoration and ring handle; probably Victorian.
