Garma Ramírez (1998: 146) mentions it as being Visigothic or Mozarabic, cut from a single block of limestone and having some sort of arcade on it. Also in Santamaria (1988: 158). The Historia de la Diócesis [www.diocesiscastillayleon.org] as being of Mozarabic influence. On-site notes: a tub-like, cylindrical baptismal font, now raised on three (?) blocks that are probably modern; it has a moulding at the upper rim and a band of curved lines [like nested chevrons] imitating palmettes just below it; there are eleven arches, some square, others Mozarabic; there are remains of one figure standing on a high platform in one of the square arches; in the next arch or panel to the right there is also a fragment of whatever decorated it; in the last square arch/panel to the right, just before the pattern switches to Mozarabic arches, there appear to be a human figure at an altar; is it a rendering of the Eucharist? The metal staples of the lid are still in place at the upper rim.
