Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Transitional period [1150-1200]. Home (1908) notes "an Early English font" in this church. Described in Tyrrell-Green (1928) as a tub-shaped baptismal font of the Norman period ornamented with "an arcade in relief". The tub-font is actually octagonal, the angles more prominent at the upper rim -some of which is damaged- whereas the centre and lower parts are practically circular; the blind arcade has double round arches, with supports only on every second arch, the columns decorated with moulded capitals and bases; the round plinth or base on which the font is raised appears modern. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with metal decoration and ring handle, and is said to be of the 17th century.
