Described in Tynell (1913-1921) as a baptismal font in the 'Genarpsgruppen', its decorative motifs somewhat like those on the font at Kells Nöbbelöv [aka Nöbbelöf]; the upper part of the basin has been lost, so only the centre ring and the scalloped underbowl below remain of it. Noted and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) with attribution to master Tove. Listed in Carlsson (1970). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900629F2] as a baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200 by a regional workshop; the SHM entry notes Rydbeck's attribuiton but does not endorse it. No cover present. The entry for this church in Svenska kyrkan [https://www.svenskakyrkan.se/landskrona/saby-kyrka] [accessed 10 August 2021] informs that the top 2/3 of the basin was cut off in 1902, but the reason for the action is not known [="Vid en restaurering 1902 höggs dopfuntens övre två tredjedelar bort."]; usually this is done when the fonts upper rim or area has been damaged and the font is thus salvaged; especially since fonts in the North are used with a baptismal dish atop, hence the inner well of the basin is not a functional issue. No cover present.
