Noted in Roosval (1918) and in Reutersvärd (1967). Described and illustrated in Sveriges Kyrkor: Gotland (Bd. VI, hft. 3: 244-247, 267): "The baptismal font consists of parts from different periods [...]. The quatrefoil, richly decorated bowl dates from the 14th century, while the base, with the four projecting, grotesque heads, was made as early as in the 12th century. The Romanesque bowl was probably destroyed for some reason during repairs to the church, possibly when the vaulting was constructed in the nave at the end of the 13th century, after which a new bowl had to be made." The four spaces between the heads of the base are occupied by four circles containing three human beings and a lion, one in each [cf. Iconographic data area for details]. [NB: the shape of the basin is polylobed, with eight sides, although SK's description has "quatrefoil"]. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910815F2] as a composite font consisting of a 12th-century sandstone base supporting a 14th-century limestone basin;
