Walker (1887: 422) writes that "not far from the churchyard of Dunlichity, in Strathnairn, on the road from it to Birn, there lies on the ground, about 5 yards from the road, where a small stream crosses it, a block with a circular basin [...] This basin was used, within the memory of persons living, as a baptismal font for the Episcopalians of Strathnairn, of whom there are still not a few in the district, and for whom there are provided a chapel and a school some mile up the Strath."
