Font Location in Church: The font "lies in the lovely churchyard of Balquhidder, close by the side wall of the old church" (Walker, 1887, p. 407)

Church Notes: Walker (1887) reports the old church here as being from the First-Pointed date.
Described in Walker (1887) as a "large, rude, lumpish bowl, of hemispherical form" with a very small drain. It resembles somewhat the basin found at Killin, about 13 km to the north, although the latter is shallower and more "refined" in overall shape. The upper surface of the basin still shows the two holes, at opposite ends, for the lid lock.
