Described and illustrated in Walker (1887) as a "very plain and rather lumpish-looking bowl [...] at present doing duty as a water-trough within the beautiful grounds of Beil [Biel], not far from the site of the now extinct church of Petcox [sic], and from which it very likely came" (ibid., p. 368, 371). He suggests a date in the late 14th century, like the Stenton font nearby. [NB: the name of the village is Pitcox]
