Described and illustrated in Pike (1989: 33): "A Medieval font [that] may have come from the Friary [i.e., a Franciscan Friary, now in ruins, founded by Conn, son of Henry O'Neil 1489, and located about a mile east of Ballynasaggart] or St. Ciaran's ancient monastery, on which site is St. Matthew's Church. The font is still in use. It is made of rough limestone and has no central drain. It is circular with a round bowl. The pedestal is conical with five carved circles. The decoration of the font is in high relief on the theme of the Fleur-de-lis. The base is square. There is a drain hole on one side.
