Index entry for Kilkenny No. 2]. Described and illustrated in Pike (1989: 18-19) as the second medieval baptismal font in this church, said to date from 1225; it was "moved from St. Mary's Church, Gowran, in March 1986. It is now used alternately with the original font of the Cathedral". The sides of the basin are decorated with heavy Romanesque flutes, ten on each side, and fleur-de-lis decoration on the top surface, much like the font at Kilkenny St. Canice's [cf. Index entry for Kilkenny No. 2]. [cf. Index entry for Old Leighlin No. 2 for the original 12th-century(?) font of this cathedral]
