Listed and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: PM10001266]: "Fonts baptismaux […] Calcaire […] 12e siècle […] Sur pied balustre moderne. Restes de peinture faux marbre. [...] H = 83 ; la = 62 ; pr = 59 (Hauteur sans couvercle) ; Cuve seule : h = 37". Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: OA010031019772]. The font consists of a square basin that has been chamfered to an octagon, carved columns left in the chamfers; the columns have moulded capitals and bases; the original base is lost and has been replaced by a round moulded pedestal of the baluster type, the lower end of which is partly buried in the flooring; the basin retains traces of paint that gave the stone the appearsnce of marble, but it is limestone. A flat octagonal wooden cover is atop the basin, flat and plain; modern. NB: the entry for this church in the Observatoire du Patrimoine Religieux [https://www.patrimoine-religieux.fr/eglises_edifices/10-Aube/10249-Montieramey/116442-EgliseNotre-Dame-de-lAssomption] [accessed 21 April 2023] notes that this building, originally an abbey church, only became parish church in the 18th century: "Église de l'abbaye de Montiéramey (fondée au IX° siècle), cet édifice n'est devenu paroissial qu'au XVIII° siècle."
