According to Conde de Cedillo the font was mended in 1761 and placed on a stone pedestal at the time. Noted and illustrated in Enciclopedia Universal Ilustrada Europeo-Americana, [1910- ); in it, the ceramic font appears to be generally chalice-shaped; the basin has a thin square rim and rather short sides decorated with incised Greek (trefoiled?) crosses on a busily decorated background of plasterwork [="yeserías"]; the underbowl chamfer is plain and tall; it rests on a square stone pedestal of later date [cf. Cedillo above]. At present, the basin appears to have been removed from its 18th-century stone base and mounted now on a metal support that shows the full length of the underbowl, plain and conical in shape; the inner well of the basin is lined; on the polygonal basin sides some the coloured glazing (white and green) can still be seen. [NB: the palace of the Condes de Cedillo is located in Villamiel, near the town hall]
