Listed in Vélez Chaurri (1984). Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) as a crude, but interesting limestone work probably of the second half of the 12th century; the large basin is bucket-shaped, but the angle colonnettes give it a square appearance; the upper basin sides have a band of vegetal scrolls, while the capitals of the angle colonnettes are: a monstrous head, a grotesque human head, bearded, a reticular motif, and, the last one, two affronted birds; lower down, on the sides of the basin, are very irregular blind round arches; the basin rests directly on a quadrangular plinth: "En el interior de este edificio se conserva la pila bautismal que nos ocupa, que procede de la cercana iglesia de San Martín, hoy arruinada y convertida en el cementerio del pueblo. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 23 October 2021] notes: "iglesia, dedicada San Pedro, Apóstol [...] la torre es una espadaña moderna [...]
