Font Notes:
Described in Bilbao (1996). Noted and illustrated in Valle Barreda (2009). Tub-shaped basin decorated with window-like arcade of eleven round arches on columns with capitals; the arcade does not cover the whole area of the basin sides, and there are unusual vertical lines with bent tops in the gap; moulded circular base; plain square lower base or plinth. No cover present. The entry for this church in [http://www.tubilladellago.com/iglesia.html] [accessed 18 October 2022] states that the font was originally in the ermita de San Marcos: "pila bautismal de estilo románico, que en un principio se hallaba en la ermita de San Marcos"; this provenance is also given in [https://web.archive.org/web/20191203225028/https://www.reservaduero.com/turismo/iglesia-principal-4-2] [accessed 18 October 2022] [NB: the former location may be an error in the Enclopedia, it mentions only one 'ermita' in this locality, that of San Marco]. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed October 2022] mentions a Romanesque font in the parish church here, but says nothing of its provenance [cf. supra].
