Font Notes:
Described in Bilbao (1994) and (1996) as a Romanesque baptismal font of the 13th century; the large basin is decorated with a garland of leaves and ears of corn on the side; the underbowl is ornamented with a simple two-strand interlace motif and scallop pattern; plain round base. Bilbao (ibid.) cites an entry in the Catálogo Monumental de la Diócesis de Vitoria. Illustrated in the Auñamendi Eusko Entziklopedia [www.euskomedia.org/aunamendi/47445#12] [accessed 16 April 2010]. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 16 April March 2021] notes: "A la pila bautismal se llega por un arco ojival. Es románica del siglo XIII, con hermosa decoración vegetal, apoyada en pie cilíndrico."
