Described in Bilbao (1996: 293) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the basin is ribbed inside and out, with lobed rim. Round upper base has four decorative "bumps" totally unidentifiable today; round lower base. None of the above sources identify the four motifs set at 90-degree angles of the base; [cf. ImagesArea]; one of them is clearly a human head; another is an avian head, a bird of prey, perhaps an eagle's or a falcon's; a third appears to be animal but it is too eroded for identification; the fourth has been damaged beyond recognition as a head. No cover present but there is evidence of cover anchorings left in the upper rim.
