Described and illustrated in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period; dodecagonal basin decorated with a blind arcade of twelve arches; the arches appear Mozarabic and the columns alternate between single torsade and double plain; the upper part of the base is octagonal and appears to be part of the same block as the basin, but the rest of it is modern concrete. Described and illustrated in Valle Barreda (2009), who mentions similarities between the fonts at Cilleruelo de Arriba, Pinilla-Trasmonte and Santa Maria de Mercadillo. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 17 April March 2021] notes: "su iglesia dedicada a San Lorenzo, mártir, y es barroca [...] No cover present now but the upper rim of the basin retains two metal staples for the anchoring of an earlier cover, one of which has split and damaged the stone.
