Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_SANTA_CRUZ_DE_JUARROS.pdf] [accessed 5 April 2023]: the large sandstone bucket-shaped basin, originally from the nearby Ermita de San Pedro, has ribbed inner surface; the outer sides are ornamented with an arcade of round arches with circles and crosses in the spandrels; rope mouldings at upper rim and lower basin side; on a moulded squat base: "Dentro de la capilla adosada al lado norte del presbiterio se encuentra depositada una pila bautismal románica que fue trasladada hace unos años desde la cercana ermita de San Pedro. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 5 April 2022] mentions the baptismal font twice, once as Romanesque ["pila románica de vaso con sogueados, arcos en relieve y base circular" and farther down the entry another as Renaissance ["La pila de la iglesia es renacentista con cenefa en relieve y acanalados y pie cuadrado con molduras"] [NB: an error?]
