Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_QUINTANILLA_DE_LA_PRESA.pdf] [accessed 5 April 2023]
as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period dated probably to the late-12th century: "pila bautismal, de traza románica […] alzada sobre el tradicional basamento circular escalonado, aquí semienterrado. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 19 March 2022] notes: "Su iglesia, en un alto, está dedicada a Santa Columba, y es gótica [...] The font consists of a hemispherical basin ornamented with ribbed pattern on the outside and with concave ribbing on the inside, raised on a modern moulded cylindrical base. No cover present but the upper rim retains two metal staples from the anchorings of an old cover.
