Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) with suggested date in the early 13th century; the basin is half-built into the wall and ornamented with a simple arcade; the short round lower base is moulded and has embossed relief: "pila bautismal de posible traza románica, formada por una basa circular sobre la que apoya una copa semiesférica decorada con simples arquerías de talla muy plana. Resulta complicada su datación dada la sencillez de su labra, aunque nos parece obra tardía, de principios del siglo XIII." The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed June 2022] notes: "Su iglesia está dedicada a San Román, mártir, y es renacentista [...] La pila, que tiene la base circular, es románica, de piscina, con arcos incisos y bordes moldurados". No cover present.
