Listed in Guerra (1986 c1978) as an immersion baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) the round limestone basin is ornamented with rope moulding at the upper rim, with a narrow band of striated pattern below; arcade of fourteen horseshoe arches all around; plain round lower base; the same source notes that the lower part of the font has been re-tooled at a later date: "pila bautismal de piedra caliza, que tiene un diámetro de 139 cm y una altura de 90 cm, de los cuales 26 pertenecen a la basa y 64 a la copa, ambas piezas independientes. Described and illustrated in the WikiBurgos site [www.wikiburgos.es/wiki/Revillarruz#Iglesia_parroquial_de_San_Juan_Bautista] [accessed 19 October 2015].
