Described in Bilbao (1996) as having a basin decorated with a crude arcade and rope moulding above it ["con tosca arquería y motivo cordado sobre ella"]; in an earlier mention of this same font, however, (ibid. p. 86), Bilbao refers to the this font as being one of several in which the treatment of architectural ornamentation is done with elegance and harmony ["grandes dosis de elegancia y armonía"] and describes the arcade in these as "arquerías de gran calidad." (ibid.). In Valle Barreda (2009). The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_REVENGA_DE_MUÑÓ.pdf] [accessed 30 March 2023] notes: "pila bautismal románica (128 cm de diámetro × 87 cm de altura) decorada con un sogueado en la embocadura y arcos de medio punto en el resto de la copa". The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 30 March 2023] notes: "La pila es románica, de vaso, con cordones en borde y arcos en relieve y base circular." The upper rim of the basin retains two metal staples for a cover lock. The font has some damage to the sides and the base has been repaired with dark cement. The workmanship could be described as competent at best, contrary to the terms used in Bilbao [cf. supra]. [NB: a possible sunken baptismal font is reported at the Comunero de Revenga, in a recently [ca. 1972] excavated necropolis -- cf. web site http://members.tripod.com/quintanardelasierra/delf.htm#10 for archaeological report and images]
