Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 30 March 2023] describes tge font in its parish church: "La pila, buena, es románica con gallones en borde, rosetas, arcos con bolas, pie cilíndrico y base circular". Baptismal font probably of the late-Romanesque period; the inside well of the basin is decorated with concave ribbing; the outside starts at the top with broad ribs, below which runs a band of rosettes; below, already at underbowl level, the surface breaks into deeply-carved arch-heads that contain a rosette, a cross, a human head, one ball with a cross decoration and another ball with incised decoration [NB: this underbowl treatment is somewhat odd and suspiciously looking like a later(?) re-carving]; it is raised on a circular stem with a moulding at each end. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 8 November 2021] notes: "San Román, mártir, es el titular de su iglesia.
