Described in Bilbao (1996). Noted in the Enciclopedia del Romanico en Castilla y Leon (2002- ) [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_QUINTANILLA-COLINA_COLINAS_DE_VALDIVIELSO.pdf] [accessed 30 March 2023] as one of a group of cognate fonts: Lomas de Villamediana, Villamediana de Lomas, Linares de Bricia, Crespos, Quintanilla-Colina y Brullés, [...] " The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 30 March 2023] mentions the font in the parish church: "La pila de Quintanilla es románica con decoración dentada y sogueado". Baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the basin is ornamented by two bands of saw-tooth pattern and two rope mouldings between them; the pedestal base and lower base are round. Bilbao (ibid.) claims the font at the Iglesia de San Cipriano, in the same village, is an unfinished version of this font. [cf. Index entry for Quintanilla Colina No. 2 for details]
