Church Notes: the present church is 15th-16thC
Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ). Noted and illustrated in Valle Barreda (2009). The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 11 April March 2021] notes: "La [iglesia] del barrio de Quintanilla, dedicada a Santa Eulalia, es renacentista [...] Conserva restos románicos [...] la pila es románica, del siglo XII, con arquitos y sogueado y restos de pintura". The tub-shaped basin has double rope motif band at the upper rim; below, a row of 14 almost pointed arches; the capitals, columns, etc., are braided with rope or vegetal motifs; another band of braided (?) motif below the arches, too damaged to be sure now; round squat base. No cover present but an old metal staple from a cover anchoring is still embedded in the upper rim.
