Described and illustrated in Bilbao (1996). Noted in Valle Barreda (2009), who mentions similarities with the font at Mahamud, and dates it ca. 1200. Baptismal font of the consisting of a large hemispheric basin ribbed both inside and out; as many in this area, it has a vine above the dibs; scene of Christ stepping over a dragon to which is attached a serpent; on a base decorated with torsade and flowers; lower base has three lion or monster protomes looking up towards the bowl; more elaborate than the average font in the area. The font is much damaged and its surface eroded from exposure to the elements; broad rib pattern on the outside, with a much eroded statue on one side, said to be Christ [or St. Michael] fighting a dragon; there is a short cylindrical stem decorated with torsade pattern with floral motifs in between, and a circular moulded lower base on which three monstruous protomes raise their ugly heads up towards the basin. The general decoration and the concave ribbed pattern around the inner well point out to a later date than the sources above suggest. There is a later font in this church, closer to the doorway, a rounded polygonal basin on a polygonal pedestal base, on a round plinth. There is no cover present but one metal staple remains in the upper rim, another probably lost from the damaged rim.
