Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_PEONES_DE_AMAYA.pdf] [accessed 28 March 2023] as similar to the one in nearby Amaya; the basin is ornamented with ribbed pattern; the base is small and round; the square lower base has a ball motif at each angle: "El único resto románico que se conserva en su iglesia parroquial es la pila bautismal, de factura muy similar a la de Amaya. [NB: Bilbao (ibid.) reports the location of the font beneath the west gallery, which it may have been at the time [ca. 1996], but it is now [2021] in the nave, north side, opposite the south entranceway [see ImagesArea]].
