Deacribed and partially illustrated in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period.
Listed as a Romanesque baptismal font in Arte románico en Burgos [www.asturnatura.com/estilo/romanico-burgos.html] [accessed 26 October 2020]. Baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin with grovved upper rim but otherwise plain; raised on a circular slightly tapering base with a large human head on one of the sides; the head appears to of a tonsured male head with long hair gathered behind the ears; damage to the upper rim coincides with the position of a metal staple [the marck of the staple is still clearly visible] from the old cover anchoring or locking system. No cover present.
