Described in Bilbao (1996). The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_MORADILLO_DE_ROA.pdf] [accessed 18 March 2023] writes of two Romanesque baptismal fonts in it, one inside the church, the other outside, in the porch: "En realidad como únicos elementos románicos podemos considerar a las dos pilas bautismales que aquí se conservan, una en el interior del templo y otra expuesta en el pórtico. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 17 January 2022] notes: "iglesia dedicada a San Pedro, Apóstol, de transición del románico al gótico [...] On-site notes: very large baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the huge basin is roughly hemispherical; the side proper has a busily carved vine all around forming a broad band; the underbowl begins right under this band and has very large and pronounced ribbed pattern (twelve ribs?); at the upper interstices between the ribs are small motifs, most of them human or animal heads, some of which appear to be grotesque; one is clearly in the midst of devouring a human (?) body of which only the buttocks and dangling legs are visible; a few of the motifs are vegetal; there is a roll moulding at the top of the circular base; the surface of the stem of the base appears to have been touched-up (?) with a busy incised pattern resembling cob-webs, and, in them, some odd shapes appear [are these the bull protomes noted in Valle Barreda [cf. infra]; the lower volume is a broad plinth. The wooden cover is round and flat, hinged in the middle. Valle Barreda (2009) identifies bull protomes on it as well, and suggests a stylistic link with the fonts at Fuentelisendo, Hontangas and Torregalindo.
