Described and illustrated in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ); the basin is ribbed inside and out; the base has vegetal (palm?) leaves and palmettes below; also on the base, an inscription with the "era" date 1249 [i.e., 1211 A.D.] and the name of Domingo de Terradillos. [cf. Index entry for San Andres de Montearados, also the work of this master -- García Guinea (2004) names a baptismal font at Terradillos de Sedano by the same master, that was the model for the ones at Montorio and San Andrés de Motearados -- ditto the Enciclopedia...] The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 28 March 2023] notes: "su iglesia dedicada a San Juan Bautista. Luce base románica, completada en gótico y renacentista [...] Su ábside es románico [...] La portada es gótica, de medio punto [...] La pila es románica, de 1210 [cf. supra], buena, avenerada por dentro y por fuera, con pie cilíndrico estriado y base circular".
