Font Notes:
The church here is listed in Luciano Huidobro y Serna's Señorios de los prelados burgaleses [...] Iglesias (Boletin de la Institucion Fernan Gonzalez, CESIC, No. 126, Año XXXIII, 1954, p. 5), under the parish churches in the Arciprestazgo de Losa, with the comment: "Todas las iglesias tienen pila bautismal." The font here is described in Bilbao (1996:80, 282) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the basin sides have concave ribs of pronounced arrises; above them, two bands of radiated motif; plain quadrangular base. No entry found for Lastras de la Torre in the Enciclopedia del románico, probably because the font does not belong in the Romanesque style at all but rather quite later in the Gothic style.
