Described in Bilbao (1996) and in Valle Barreda (2009). The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_LARA_DE_LOS_INFANTES.pdf] [accessed 22 March 2023] reports the Romanesque font beneath the west gallery: "Bajo el sotocoro tardogótico, en el lado de la epístola, se custodia una pila bautismal románica de 111 cm diámetro × 90 cm de altura; su copa hemisférica presenta ornamentación cordada entrecruzada y basa circular con bocel anular." The font is also mentioned in the entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 22 March 2023]: "La pila es románica con relieves de hojas y ajedrezado, pie cilíndrico y peana cuadrada hundida". Baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the basin sides are ornamented with a vine at the upper part, and honeycomb or chequered pattern below; the round stem is short and plain; the round-to-square lower base has concentric roll mouldings and leaves or spurs at the angles. The wooden cover, flta, plain and round, appears moderm. The font is much damaged and eroded all over; it appears to have a good chunk missing at the upper rim where an anchoring for an old cover broke the stone.
