Described in Bilbao (1996). Noted and illustrated in Valle Barreda (2009), who suggests the fonts Aguilera, Losana and Tarancueña, all of them in Soria. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 21 March 2023] notes: "La pila es románica con unos leves gallones y tiene pie cilíndrico y base cuadrada." The entry for this church in the village web site [www.hontoriadelpinar.es/lugares-de-interes/iglesia-parroquial-la-asuncion-de-nuestra-senora] [accessed 22 July 2020], mentions the font inside: "La pila es romanica con gallones, insinuados, pie cilíndrico y base cuadrada"; it cites its source (ibid.) as: "Las mil y una Iglesias de la Diocesis de Burgos". The basin is roughly cylindrical, with a rounded underbowl, all covered in a pattern of thick ribs that end at the top in round arch-heads; raised on a short round stem with a pronounced roll moulding, and a lower quadrangular base. It appears to be a work of crude workmanship.
