Church Notes: early-12thC church
Described by López Carmona (1974); in Guerra (1986 c1978); in Lojendio (1985); in Bilbao (1996). The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 16 March 2023] describes the parish here as the oldest in the diocese, but does not mention the font in it: "Su iglesia es […] románica, de una sola nave y pequeñas proporciones […] The font is also similar to a popular type of Cantabrian fonts. The roughly hemispherical basin is decorated with two bands of saw-tooth, a double rope motif between them; the base is tiny and plain. No cover present.
