Church Notes: parish church of Transitional or Early-Gothic period; enlarged 16thC -- besides the parish church there is a former rural chapel of ease, "Ermita de Santa Cristina" but has been disused since the early18thC
Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the basin bears a consecration/processional cross. The base is round; the lower base is ornamented with claw motif. [NB: Bilbao [ibid.] has this placename as "Las Celadas" [p. 76, 216] but the actual name of the place is "Celada del Camino" -- there is a BSI entry for the font in Las Celadas, aka "Celada del Paramo"]. The entry for this church in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [ww.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 22 January 2021] reports: "hermosa iglesia, gótica con cabecera románica [...] El ábside es románico avanzado [...] La pila es románica, con una cruz incisa, con fuste, sin pie". The lower end of the base is round-to-square and appears to be damaged and partly semi-buried in the ground; it retains what appears to be knobs at the angles, but Bilbao (ibid.) refers to them as "garras" [=claws"]]. Only about a third of a flat and round plain wooden cover remains on the font; it is modern. The entry for this church in the Enclopedia del romanico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_CELADA_DEL_CAMINO.pdf] [accessed 15 March 2023] does not mention a font in it.
