Described in Bilbao (1996). Baptismal font consisting of a square basin decorated with a simple interlace pattern around the inner rim of the well, while the outer sides are ornamented with large zigzag bands; the angles of the basin have been carved with a variety of motifs: one is plain, another has thin column or piping, while the two others have a pattern that resembles the interlace found around the rim of the inner well, one with a tiny human head at the bottom, the other with foliage motif at the top; it is raised on a quadrangular base. Square fonts in this region are not very common, though the Enciclopedia… (2008) notes: Olvega and Gormaz (Soria prov.); Bustillo de Santullan and Villaverde de la Pena (Palencia prov.) Rosales, Quintanillabon, Grisalena, Dosante, Valluercanes, Castrovido, Cernegula, Santillan del Agua, Bortedo, Llano de Bureba, Castil de Lences and Castrillo de Rio Pisuerga (Burgos prov.); last, but certainly not least, is the font of the Colegiata de San Isidoro in Leon capital.
